How embarrassing....heading towards two years since I wrote anything on here! Needless to say that I been op shopping heaps and it would take many pages to list all the stuff I have purchased.

Anyway, I promise to try and blog a little more in 2011.

At the moment I am loving vintage dresses, especially the pre-1970 ones. I have been lucky in my travels and have found a few recently in small country op shops on the route between where I live now and where I grew up. The only downside is that many of them are synthetic and while they look great, I live in a rather warm tropical climate; which means I may end up a smelly melted mess if I wear them during the day! But its OK, I get plenty of opportunity to wear them in winter, mostly our winter is fairly mild.

I was in search of some material yesterday to make a library bag for my son, as it came to my notice he starts school next week! With all the floods around and cutting off the roads to the major coastal towns I realised I needed to get some right now! I went to the normal fabric shops and was aghast at the prices they wanted for a printed fabric, boy appropriate! Thankfully I found some blue corduroy in one of my usual op shop haunts, so for $3 I got enough material to make one for my son and one for my nephew.

Even though that was my reason for going to the op shops, I also picked up three very cute dresses...lol.... couldn't help myself! Will post pics once I 1. Wash them; and 2. I find my camera.

OK, must be off, got to make the library bags and cover school books! (First child at school, lol!)
